11 Best Affiliate Programs For Eco-Friendly Niches

As sustainability standards increase across the globe, there will naturally be a requirement for consumers to rethink their purchasing habits. Many consumers are ahead of the game and actively seeking out products to enable them to make a contribution through their purchases.

Consequently, the eco-friendly niche is one that will continue to grow. In this post we will look at the Best Affiliate Programs For Eco Friendly Niches.

If you are already in this niche you might find some you haven’t heard of. If not, it might inspire your next niche blog!

This site includes some affiliate links – if you buy through my link I may get paid a commission but the price remains the same for you. Thank you for your support.

What exactly does eco-friendly mean?

The official definition is ‘not harmful to the environment’ which includes all stages of production and indeed the packaging. The FTC Green Guides go into much more detail if you are interested.

Eco-friendly affiliate programs

The interesting thing I found while researching this article is the scope of niches that eco-friendly products cover which means it wouldn’t necessarily be essential to have an entirely eco-friendly website to promote some of these products. (Having said that, most of the businesses will want to know that you share their values.) You will see what I mean as you read on.

Patagonia

Patagonia started out originally making tools for climbers and has since grown into a global concern manufacturing high performance clothing for skiing, snowboarding, climbing (of course), fly-fishing, surfing, paddling, trail running and more.

The products are seriously good-looking and at the time of writing the product range is made of 68% recycled material and are also Fair Trade accredited. If that wasn’t enough, they invest a minimum of 1% of their profits in organizations working to reverse the damage to the environment.

As an affiliate, you would earn 8% commission. The products are at the higher end of the market with a ski jacket retailing  retailing around $450. The cookie duration is 60 days.  Sign up is with AvantLink.

A raised composite garden bed from Eartheasy

Eartheasy

The founder of Eartheasy, Greg Seaman, was inspired by an exhibition called ‘Can Man Survive’ at the American Museum of Natural history back in 1970 where he took up his very first job. This sewed the seed of finding a simpler way to live and makes a really incredible back-story to this eco-friendly business.

The product range includes Green Home, Yard and Garden, Off-Grid and Outdoors, Lifestyle (including sustainable travel gear, health and wellness, baby and Kids, zero waste and pets) and gifts.

Commission is from 5 – 10% with a 90-day cookie. The average order value is $200 (you can order a pet poo worm composter for $329.95!). Sign up is directly with Eartheasy.

How adorable is this sustainable trike from The Natural Baby Company?

The Natural Baby Company

The Natural Baby Company was born out of what was originally an online diaper store being operated out of Kim Ormsby’s laundry! The success of the cloth-diapering system was phenomenal and led to the inception of more sustainable products aimed at helping parents reduce their carbon footprint and at the same time, give their babies the most natural start to life.

Imagine everything you could need for a baby or toddler – that is what you will find on the website. The products are beautifully made and would be a real joy to use.

Commission is 10% with a 180-day cookie. Sign up with ShareASale. Again, you don’t necessarily have to have an eco-friendly website to promote this business. This would be a great fit for anyone with a baby and toddler or parenting blog.

An ingenious way to grow your own organic veg and herbs

The Garden Tower Project

This is a really interesting product – a vertical garden planter – which essentially allows people to grow organic herbs and vegetables in the very smallest of outdoor spaces.

When people are more and more interested in their health and eating organic produce but less and less able to afford the premium price, they can grow their own! And it doubles up as a composter for food scraps!

Furthermore, it doesn’t involve any tilling of the ground so for anyone with a bad back or those with limited mobility, home-grown produce is still a possibility. There are various types available but they typically retail at around $359.

The founders say “With 100% American-made parts (99% made in our home state of Indiana!), the Garden Tower® 2 epitomized the term “homegrown.” It is 100% recyclable which is very impressive.

Commission is 16% with a 30-day cookie. This is a fabulous product for anyone in the gardening, organic or self-sufficiency niches as well as the obvious eco-friendly niche. Sign up again is with ShareASale.

Inergy

Inergy is an innovative creator of portable solar consumer products as well as solar panels. Their mission is ‘to deliver affordable solar power to the world’ and they are certainly well on their way.

They offer systems for people living off grid and solutions to keep your home powered in the case of power cuts during extreme weather as well as regular solar systems.

Commission is 10% with a 30-day cookie. And if that wasn’t enough, for every system they sell, they donate one to people in need. You can sign up directly with Inergy. This is a great product for energy and home improvement niches as well as eco-friendly niches.

Alternative Apparel

This is a really lovely website featuring organic and recycled clothing for men, women and children along with accessories such as backpacks and jewelry. They have some ranges made from recycled cotton, organic cotton and even cotton / hemp blends in lovely styles and colors.

I wouldn’t normally promote products with only 6-8% commission, but maybe you monetize your blog through advertising and love to write about sustainable fashion! Cookie duration is 30 days. Also, it’s a global program which makes it a bit more interesting. You can sign up here.

Urban Adventures

Urban Adventures mission is to ‘change the way people see the world’. The idea is that when visiting a destination you will be stepping into the local community, hearing their stories, exploring with local guides, tasting their food and visiting local shops. They money you spend will stay in the local area.

They offer food tours, beer tours, active tours, shopping tours and private tours. With only 10% commission, I would suggest that this would be used by someone who already has a travel blog, ideally with a sustainability angle. Looking at the destinations and tours on their website would give you content ideas for a thousand years!

Find out more about how they have supported local communities in an interactive map of destinations visited. You can sign up here.

Mother Erth

Mother Erth just might be my favorite business on this list (though they are all pretty inspiring). They collect laminated plastic that has been discarded by manufacturers in Asia (due to printing defects) and repurpose it by making it into one of a kind handbags.

Women in local communities around the Philippines are trained to use their traditional weaving skills to produce bags and accessories for which they are paid a fair wage to help them support their families.

When you buy one you are helping the planet and improving the quality of life for people who would otherwise be living in poverty. And the bags look amazing! This is ethical fashion at it’s very best.

Commission is 15% (20% for super affiliates) with a 90-day cookie. Sign up is with… you’ve guessed it, ShareASale.

My Cleaning Products

To cut a long story shorty, Markus Skupeika (CEO of Optimal Chemical Inc), set out to find natural ingredients from ancient cultures that offer healing and wellness properties. He was so blown away but the results of what he found that he put a team of specialists onto creating MyCleaningProducts.com. Check out more about his story here.

I can see these products being very popular as not only are they environmentally friendly but so many people suffer from allergies these days that this would alleviate concerns over potential irritants.

Products range from pest control, to carpet cleaners to kitchen, cleaners, cleaners for stonemasonry, pets and they even have some for your car and boat! Commission is 30% and average order values are from $150 – $300 for retail sales and from $500 – $5,000 for commercial sales. Again, sign up is with ShareASale.

Conclusion

There is a really interesting mix of eco-friendly products out there so if this is your niche you have plenty to celebrate!

Having said that, you can have the best products on the market but if you don’t have any traffic, you don’t get any sales! Check out my post, How To Get Traffic To Your Website Free for some ideas. 1. Wow! I love these companies you shared here and I have noted their names. The ones that really stood out for me were Eartheasy, Alternative Apparel, and My Cleaning Products. Promoting such eco friendly companies is great for the environment and it also makes me feel better about myself. I’d much rather promote these companies than others that are not so environment-friendly.
I am also very interested in Inergy, not only as an affiliate, but also as a customer, because I live in the middle of nowhere and I am now building my house. I have a small solar system for my trailer, but I will need a full solar system for my house once it is built, so Inergy is something I will be looking at.
Thank you for sharing these amazing companies!

  2. Wow, I wasn’t expecting such a comprehensive list. Thanks for taking the time to share a few words about each affiliate program individually. That really helps. Most of sites just share lists and a few words about each affiliate program. You’ve done a great job here.

I will definitely study this list some more. I think eco-friendly niche is becoming more and more popular so it would be a great idea to take a part in it. Thanks again!

  3. Hi Jean,

This is such a great article, and all 11 affiliate programs are brilliant. For me, I think the best one would be alternative apparel. I know a lot of people who I work with who would love this too. In fact I am going to share your article with my friends because I know a few of them were looking to get into affiliate marketing. Especially since this pandemic has ruined a lot of people’s jobs.

I will encourage them to comment and if they have any questions then they should get in touch. If that is OK with you?

Thank you for sharing and keep up the great work.

    All the best,

    Tom

  4. Such a great list you have made, Jean. Thank you so much. I browse for green affiliate programs at times, but haven’t found many convincing ones yet. But your list seems like having some winners, so I am going to check them out.

You asked for green affiliate programs. I am enthusiastic about YourSuper (link on my website, hint, hint 😉 ). And I am also a fan of Solgar supplements, yet Solgar works with distributors that are less eco-friendly. That’s a pity of course.

I should put in more effort finding green affiliate programs. So far I have mainly concentrated on making content. On the other hand, it is also good not to overwhelm myself, with all the should-do’s. 🙂

    • Many thanks for your positive comments, Hannie! I will check out YourSuper and Solgar – so thanks for the tips!

I found some good eco-friendly affiliate programs by going to pages 2 and 3 of the Google search (or even further back!). Typically a company only featuring one program does not get onto page one but there can be some good ones lurking further in the search. I hope this makes sense!

      Kind regards,

      Jean

      • My problem is that most ecofriendly products are still packed in single use plastic, which I refuse to use or recommend. That’s probably why I can find so few companies I want to be an affiliate for. 🙂

  5. Hi Jean.

A great diverse list of good quality products. Thanks for sharing.

I have to agree with you that as people’s awareness of the unsustainability of modern consumerism grows, more and more people (especially the younger generations) are seeking eco-friendly alternative products. The trend for manufactures to be more conscious of the impact they are having on the environment is also growing, but unfortunately, not nearly quickly enough.

However, it is we, the consumers that hold the power, because if we support businesses with a ‘conscious mindset’ they will continue to grow, and those that are creating harm will diminish.

Thanks for sharing this list and I hope it inspires many of the bloggers out there to consider that they can help create positive change in our world by joining in and helping to promote businesses with a conscience instead of those that are only profit-orientated.

I absolutely agree with you. If we choose to buy the right product for the planet, manufacturers will have to put sustainability at the top of their agenda.

Thanks for taking the time to comment.

  6. Hi Jean,
You article is in line with current trends. As many people get enlightened, more and more of them are looking to buy and actively searching for eco-friendly products. For some it is actually the deal breaker as to whether they will buy the product or not. Truth be told, I have slid into that category…….I read the label on everything before I buy, so I was delighted to read your article. My Cleaning Products, Mother Erth, The Green Tower Project and Eartheasy have piqued my interest and I plan to explore their products.
    Thanks for the great info!
