About me

For some time now, I have been somewhat obsessed with fulfilling my potential. I have watched numerous YouTube videos, read lots of personal development books, followed the law of attraction and even got started with 2 or 3 businesses but never just found my mojo. Nothing got me so excited that I couldn’t sleep at night until I discovered a training platform called Wealthy Affiliate and started my first blog earlier this year around the topic of Personal Development.

How my blog changed my vision

Having started my blog, my eyes were opened to the opportunity to share what I was learning with others.

I had previously been involved in Network Marketing and tried to set up a blog on my own but got totally stuck and the only help that I could find was going to cost $75 per hour which I couldn’t afford. In any case, that was not what I was looking for – I needed someone to show me what to do because it was highly likely that I would get stuck again! I ended up giving up on that website and took the decision to switch from Network Marketing (after 10 years!) to Affiliate Marketing.

I figured that there must be so many people stuck with their websites, that the very least I could do was share what is available as far and wide as possible. The free training at Wealthy Affiliate would have got me unstuck!

Escaping my job helping others

Furthermore, now that I am involved in the Wealthy Affiliate community, I can see that not only is it possible to escape my day job (which I am very lucky and grateful to have right now!), but I can help others at the same time. Unlike in Network Maketing, while I am grateful I did it and met so many wonderful people, I am not relying on anyone else’s performance for my success. It is 100% down to me.

Empowerment not charity

It’s hard to imagine a time when so many people were in need – not of charity but of empowerment. With so many jobs lost and incomes cut, not to mention the people who want to leave their jobs and live life on their own terms, I have an absolute duty to share the message that with determination and this incredible training and support, anyone with a computer and internet access can start their own successful business and would be delighted for you to join me on the journey. Even if you choose to go it alone, I hope you will find the content valuable to you on  your own journey.

  • Good morning, Jean,
I heard you on the radio this morning as I like Pop Master and when you introduced yourself, I thought, someone else who wants to escape the rat race. (I missed your questions because I checked out your site but did hear that you scored 18 points – well done!)

Long-story-short, I too have tried network marketing (Amway and Kleeneze) but couldn’t make them work for me and in fact, I alienated some people because of my posture. I just felt I had to be someone that couldn’t be and that simply isn’t me. I think there’s too much West Of Scotland get-realism in me.

I’ve looked at Wealthy Affiliate but I thought it was just a money making machine for the two founders.

I appreciate you me nothing but can I ask what makes WA work for you and how long have you been a member?
If I don’t hear from you, I wish well.

    • Hi George

How funny that I made you miss the first round of Popmaster! (I normally do better, the questions were tough!) This post tells my story, sums up where I was and how Wealthy Affiliate has helped me https://yourjobescapeplan.com/150-2/. I was in Kleeneze too! For 8 years! I loved it but never made the life-changing money (and just missed qualifying for Mexico). I will email you in cae you miss this message please feel free to sen me a friend request too https://www.facebook.com/jean.kilpatrick.7/

      Kind regards,

      Jean
